What Cadence is

Cadence is a video planning and publishing tool. It helps creators find ideas, write scripts, prepare uploads, and read how published videos performed. It is operated by Unbland Studio (unbland.studio).

What we collect and why

Account data. Your email address and name, used to sign you in and nothing else. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes.

Your work. The contexts, ideas, scripts, and video plans you create in Cadence are stored so the product can function. They are yours.

YouTube data, only if you connect a channel. When you connect your YouTube account, Google gives Cadence a token scoped to: uploading videos you ask it to upload, reading your channel’s analytics, and reading captions of your own videos. Cadence uses this access solely to perform the actions you trigger — uploading a video you drop in, pulling your own video’s transcript, and showing your channel’s performance numbers back to you.

Cookies and data stored on your device

Cadence stores a small amount of information on your device so the product works. None of it is used for advertising or shared with third parties, and none of it is read by anyone except Cadence itself.

Session cookie. When you sign in, Cadence sets one cookie (appsess) holding a random session id. It is how the server knows you are signed in. It is HTTP-only, sent only over HTTPS, and removed when you sign out.

Sign-in cookies for Google and YouTube. While you connect a Google account or a YouTube channel, Cadence sets short-lived cookies (gstate, ystate, yback) that hold a random check value and the page to return you to. They protect the sign-in from forgery and are deleted as soon as the connection completes.

Browser storage. Cadence uses your browser’s local storage to remember which context you were last working in and which items on a script checklist you have ticked. This never leaves your browser.

Third parties. Cadence does not place third-party cookies, analytics tags or advertising trackers. When you open a YouTube link or connect a channel, Google may set cookies on its own domains under the Google Privacy Policy.

You can clear all of this at any time from your browser’s settings. Cadence will ask you to sign in again.

What we never do

We do not sell data. We do not share your data with third parties except the services required to operate (our own database, and Google’s APIs when you use YouTube features). We do not use your YouTube data for advertising, and no human at Unbland Studio reads it except to debug a problem you have reported.

Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure

Cadence’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube data is used only to provide the features you see, is never transferred to third parties except as needed to provide those features, and is never used for advertising.

Cadence uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Storage and deletion

Data lives in Cadence’s own database. Video files you upload through Cadence are deleted from our server as soon as the upload to YouTube completes. You can disconnect your YouTube channel at any time by revoking Cadence’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which invalidates our stored token immediately. To delete your account and its data, email unblandstudio@gmail.com and it is done within 30 days.
